Year 5 & 6

In year 5 and 6 at Clive School, students work in a collaborative learning environment with four teachers. Each child has a home class teacher but also spends time working with the other teachers for Reading, Writing or Maths (workshops). Other curriculum areas are organised for learning in a variety of ways and groupings; students may work with their home class teacher depending on the focus or needs of the students (e.g. P.E and Inquiry).

Students develop skills in the following areas: leadership, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, team work, independence, creativity, digital literacy and emotional intelligence (coping with change and challenge and developing a growth mindset).  These key skills are taught through the Clive Kids vision and have a focus on further developing student agency.

The Clive School Board of Trustees provides all students with an iPad to use at school; teachers use both traditional tools with digital, ensuring that all skills and tools are used effectively linked to a clear purpose.
